French lesson: Same but Different

American English (AE): I left my tooth for the tooth fairy.
French (F): I left my tooth for the tooth mouse.

AE: I feel like such a third wheel.
F: I feel like the fifth wheel of the carriage.

AE: I've really got a green thumb.
F: I've really got a green hand.

AE: The teacher uses a lot of pie charts.
F: The teacher uses a lot of camemberts.
